You are not alone, the shift in reporting from DDR shows a disregard for shareholders.

You use to be able to set your clock by announcements, and even forecast divs pretty accurately. Either David no longer gives a shit or he is too far removed from the business he created. It's probably both. I have lost a lot of well deserved faith in DDR management but I once heard David say the business is for sale at any time for the right price. I don't think this is too far away now because he has lost his passion for it and he is getting older so I do expect in the next 12-18 months he will get a takeover offer at a healthy premium and that will be a nice exit point for me.

I have quite a bit of DDR and was prepared to hold for a long time due to the consistency and growth. These two factors are no longer prevalent so I would comfortably reduce my holdings at the right time.
