Boysy1 re F3 , BYE said in one of their announcements that some of the wells have a long tail of production and over a long period a significant proportion of the oil in the reservoir will be produced in that tail period .
A lot of oil has been produced from F3 it is draining a significantly large reservoir and it could be producing significant amounts of oil with a high water cut for a long time .
The oil production went down very quickly once water appeared at the perforations but the rate of decline may slow down considerably now .
It is a financial decision that BYE will make but the JV partners have different time frames for their financial decisions now .
F3 will not just stop producing oil overnight , it will be a decision on what level of production is too low and how much fluid to extract from each well .
Unfortunately BYE as the operator has the biggest say in those decisions .
