This is a good recovery, but not yet complete. It surprised me that sections of casing could be removed, as these are cemented firmly in place. The 9 5/8 casing string runs from inside the granite all the way back to surface and has cement behind it all the way back to surface. The production string in this case is a slotted liner suspended from the bottom of the 9 5/8 casing, and is in effect lining the hole in the granite section. Therefore I imagine it was the last section that was removed, ie the one supporting the well head. Answer to ButcherBoy, the well appears to me that it can be resuscitated. There are normally solutions to these problems.
