At least for germany you are wrong. I can buy fbr shares at asx directly and have to pay a transferfee if i wanted them to sell on the german market. So there is a genuine german market for fbr shares. Also the marketmakers in germany are high frequency traders. Means they buy shares from other markets just a few seconds after they receive an order, they dont buy shares to store them.
