you're a good judge I know , but have you or anyone done some rough numbers on what sort of return BHP would have got from those assets they sold in say past two years that SMR, WDS and to lesser extent WHC took on- I would have a guess and say somewhere near 30% p.a.-sure, maybe not going to last that way, but they did transfer a fair bit of value
the share price of WDS is discounted because it is not diversified, plus due to woke institutions (as you say, or perhaps ESG aware!!) discounting it from considerations
