Someone protecting the buy price in order to raise capital - and too few sellers willing to take the loss?

I took advantage of the buys at 6 and 5.8cps yesterday to clear my small parcel (took a loss). As soon as my trade went through (i.e. within seconds), someone removed the rest of the 5.8cps bid and a bid appeared at 8cps, despite the next bid being at 3cps. Someone else then got a few away into the 8cps bid.
