A previously debated topic "stopping of the wheat trials before the plants reached maturity" comes to mind and would fit into the theme of the linked (above) article, and could justify the scepticism of a few posters @nondiscrypt @natandsal @jantimot @eugened

Adding to the scepticism and doubt, and following on in the theme of the article - the field tomato trial being hindered by a lack of funding, and the "now" smaller scale activities lead by Monash, would suit both Monash (ongoing research for a lengthier time) and GPP because of a lack of funds presently to progress the project.

Im sure in the "fullness of time" all will be revealed, or the expert we engaged can pull a rabbit out of his hat....... promptly/imminently or soon and maybe one day.
