I have had the pleasure of meeting Tom and when I did so he allowed me to grill him - understanding precisely what I was doing and why.

One of the questions I asked was about things he thought he could have done much better or regretted. He talked about NAV and the decisions he had made that allowed others to influence direction, strategy etc. It was clear he felt he hadn't done the best thing for the company at the time in effectively losing control and that he was subsequently proven right. I think he is trying to repeat those mistakes at least. Though no doubt he will make others. He struck me as being cautious and thoughtful but you know I've been wrong about people so wouldn't lay much store on that either.

Buying shares in an unproven company carries risk and we exacerbate our risk if we build our lives around that. In my view avarice is one of the most deadly sins
