    Australia has taken the first public step towards joining the new Great Game in Asia with its plan to strengthen infrastructure development cooperation with Southeast Asian countries.

    The plan should be welcomed by regional countries who have made it clear they will accept China's offer of infrastructure finance via the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) but want more help integrating projects and making sure they are well-built.
