Upon reflection over the past 24 following the release of EMB's result, I was actively looking for the glass half-empty angle for EMB, and one of the things that occurred to me is that the cost increases we saw in the half might not all have been of a one-off nature, but might have an element of permanence about them.
These guys run a very lean, tight outfit and it might be that they feel that staff had been stretched too thin during the recent boom years, meaning this result might reflect some "catch-up" on the cost front.
Which, if correct, would lead to the conclusion that EMB has been "over-earning" to a degree in recent years.
