Yet again, you’re missing the point. GXY was doing just what Toyota was doing, but the whole thing went tits up and they lost their entire investment, which was worth almost ten times what ATL put into AGY. Toyota did a bomby off the 10 metre board with their investment into Olaroz; ATL have literally just dipped their toe into Rincon, and have quickly found out just how frigid the water is. Toyota is ultimately a terrible comparison, which is quite ironic since you just urged me not to compare apples vs oranges.
The moral of the story, for those still hard of learning, is that big companies with insider knowledge aren’t infallible, even though you’d like to portray things that way by only reflecting on the investments that worked out (like Toyota’s), rather than the ones that didn’t (like GXY’s).
Even the best make mistakes, and sometimes it was just a bad investment.
Simple.
