That Melbourne - Brisbane train referred to above terminated in Sydney.

Now on the Melbourne - Sydney line, Moss Vale to Campbelltown is closed due also to flooding, as the Nepean River (crosses the line at Menangle, with a famous bridge there) is high and rising. There is an alternative rail route (hilly) via Robertson, Unanderra, Wollongong and Sydney's Sutherland, but it's slower.

Needless to say, the heavy rain/flooding is also playing havoc with road transport.

The other two rail lines (Parkes to Ivanhoe NSW on the Broken Hill line, and north of Casino NSW on the Brisbane line) remain closed.
