To help out a little here, first a definition:

    current liabilities
    noun
    noun: current liability
    1. amounts due to be paid to creditors within twelve months.

It is impossible to see when a current liability is due from a balance sheet. The 4c filing, however, does estimate future cash flow. The Jan 31 4c for the quarter ending in Dec estimated that SAS would spend $2.8m in the first quarter of '18. In other words, they will have about $1.2m left at the end of March. So even with the $2m in current liabilities it seems that they will have more than $1m in the bank six weeks from now.

Therefore, it is quite likely that additional cash is not needed in the bank until the end of March, possibly April (or even May if they have to live on vapors).

To help out with payment terms on current liabilities, they can be established on any basis. For example, SAS has signed a binding contract with GomSpace for the Pearl development. It's likely that when GomSpace have hit some delivery milestone then SAS owe them a payment (similar to the arrangement for building a house with multiple payment stages based on building progression - bring the analogy to something that is likely familiar). If those milestones are expected within 12 months from Dec 31, then that's a current liability and reported on the balance sheet as such. Interestingly, there are no long term liabilities on the balance sheet so they must kick in after GomSpace hit whatever milestone triggers the initial payment.

No one is saying they don't need more money. No one is saying they won't raise that money. Only saying that it's not a crisis that the money is not in the bank now. Come the end of March and there's no funding announcement and then we're in a crisis.
