Amanda did great on the half year call yesterday. I am starting to think that with the SP returning to 5.90 Oz lately despite trading above and below that level that Lynas may have given MP an offer they can’t refuse and not subject to ‘ongoing’ negotiation. There is no negotiation. What alternative does MP have? They cannot sell to Shinghe because that would never be approved. They probably have been looking for a white night so the DoD and Oz and US guv don’t deliver them into the hands of Amanda but the fact is that Lynas is the only one with the IP outside China so what alternative do they have? May explain narrow trading range. Also a last ditch for MP to avoid deliverance would have been unprofitable half year but Amanda pulled it out with one hand tied behind her back and MP didn’t. She can wait all day for MP answer and price will not get any better! We then have an oligopolist market. Big word some might have to look up.
