The sharing by each poster of his/her unique insights, expertise and experiences can, in theory, be mutually benefical to all the participants on this forum, thereby making for vastly better investment outcomes for all.

Verily, the desired outcome of One plus One makes Three.

But the biggest problem with HotCopper, by far, is that - for some bizarre reason - a small minority of people adopt somewhat of a tribal stance over the shares that they hold, and somehow they believe that the act of owning a share affords those people some sort of an a priori position of superiority over those that happen to not be shareholders.

And then there's the bias of confirmation, which is natural in all of us, but sometimes it takes on crusade-like dimensions.
