It wasn't the director purchase that has affected the SCG share price. All ASX property trusts have risen in the past week. Simon Property Group in the US is up 12% this month. Unfortunately I didn't buy SCG or VCX, but another ASX REIT l bought two weeks ago is up 18% for no real reason (luck on my part, not skill). There seems to be a scramble by investors to get into REITs, Sydney Airport and Qantas over the past week or so of trading. Most days, the buyers are outnumbering the sellers 3 or 4:1 which is lifting the REITs. The VAP property trust ETF is up 8.5% in the past three weeks. Just as the SCG underperformance mostly, in my opinion, wasn't SCG's fault, SCG can't be congratulated for the recent price jump either. I imagine buyers are suddenly and collectively realising these stocks are undervalued. SCG was at $2.14 just this morning at the start of trade. While I think it's still massively undervalued, it could easily be testing $2.00 again by the end of the week! I wouldn't like to say where the price goes from here.
