I can only speak for Commsec (doesnt support shorting) and IB (which is hard to find ASX stock to short).
IB isnt for a new trader. It's a little more complex than your usual broker and they require you to have made 100+ trades previously.
I'm not sure who is good for shorting asx listed co's, i'd be interested to find out though if anyone knows.
