Thredbo has poor snow and some of the films that were expected to perform OK - Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Fall Guys did not perform well. In addition interest rates are looking like they will stay at this level for longer, which depress EVT's property portfolio value. This has probably resulted in recent poor stock price performance.
However, Inside Out 2, and Despicable Me 4 are appearing to gross USD 1bn +. It is a big question as to whether the poor box office takings are just a blip caused by the strikes last year, or if it will rebound.
The ABS data has shown that both arrivals and departures trending upwards so room rates will do OK going forward. There is a shortage of hotel rooms in Sydney which I expect to continue.
