Largest cinema operator in US, AMC theatres, been losing money since the pandemic. Event New Zealand's losing $8m a year the past two years. I wouldn't be surprised if Australian cinemas also turn from profitable to loss making in the future. Being locked into long term leases at their cinema sites will make extricating themselves out of that situation tricky. All IMO.

been awhile since we went to one actually. virtually retired so don’t really care about $100 for a night out.
