as coking coal has a longer time horizon than even high energy thermal coal based on the information and technology veiws of today, using the positive cash flows from the NHC thermal assets to pay off the acquisition cost of BHP coking coal assets seems quite compelling. i think SMR did well with their purchase from BHP but if NHC go for it and get it the yield will likely drop but the SP will have more upside potential.
