From the Yahoo Australia site:"Aldi Australia has officially ranked last among the nation's major supermarkets in reducing plastic packaging and maintaining transparency, following the long-overdue release of its sustainability report.
The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) revealed Aldi, once a leader in plastic reduction, has plummeted from its top position in 2023 to the lowest spot in its Unwrapped 2024 audit of plastic use in our supermarkets.
When the audit was first released in November, Aldi remained unscored as it had yet to publish its 2023 sustainability results, some 11 months past its reporting deadline. Meanwhile, Woolworths, Coles, and Metcash all reported within three months of their periods ending.
Now that Aldi's report is finally available, AMCS has assigned it a dismal score of just 16 per cent, the lowest of all supermarkets. In comparison, Woolworths led with 38 per cent, followed by Metcash at 23 per cent, and Coles at 20.."
