When shopping in the MYR Melbourne CBD flagship store on Saturday 12 March 2022 at 1100 AEDT, more seemed to be around, whether in-store or along major Melbourne streets such as Swanston.
I don't pay attention to the Moomba Festival (had its day) but it may account for some. Trams busy, though weekend peak shopping time is later in the day.
There'll be cannibalisation between in-store and online but during COVID-19 there's been a cohort that is not comfortable with online or simply prefer to view ranges in person, so it's likely the latter group (including many retirees/pensioners) is gradually returning to physically shop.
