Totally agree with your stock selection process Ormond, which explains why I come across your posts on my other holdings often. I have no problem with the size of the company and in some cases the smaller the better. I make sure the company is in a growth industry, good balance sheet with little debt or large capital requirements. I place close scrutiny to the major shareholders and will seldom buy if the directors do not have plenty of stock.
I do not have a problem with illiquid stocks as if you buy a business you have faith in, it can work to your advantage. Stocks I have been in for quite some time were quite illiquid and not generally commented on Hotcopper. Stocks I bought early and still own like IFM,MGM,PME,OBJ,PPS fall into this category that come to mind. I have to admit I bought RFL at an average of .09c to see it ride up .50c and only sold a third and we are now back at 16.5c. Also only bought half of my usual stake in NAN to see it fly too quick to catch more.
