Some of the centres in this analysis are small centres, 29, 34, 36 places. If centres that small have vacancies every day then something is wrong. Any centre in the G8 group that has under 48 licensed places should be carefully scrutinised and if not meeting benchmarks sell to private operators.
In the 6 months to December it was stated that they had contracted 13 centres adding another 1000 places. Only 9 have been mentioned as settling, another grey area.
Imo G8 are seriously lacking early education expertise at senior board level. Area managers and regional managers have large portfolios, visits to centres see them fly in fly out, with never enough time to observe and reflect on the needs of staff and the centre community which is critical for ongoing development of staff and G8.
The chaos yesterday was a bit like what happened to Affinity's share price a year ago. Now we wait to see what Anchorage are going to do with Affinity.
All investors should make themselves aware of the information readily available on early education centres to ensure they are monitoring organic growth closely.
