    There are two different but I agree related issues here. The existing market is huge and the question of which testing regime is the most economical is increasingly being answered in QFT's favour. If the risk of conversion to active TB is greater than previously thought then this only increases the pressure to test for latent TB more widely and more frequently and thus the economic payoff from changing to QFT becomes greater. Given the importance of this for public health (particularly given the rise of drug-resistant strains)one can only hope that knowledge of the facts will influence medics and decision-makers.
