Got a snailmail letter from the new chap, John McKinstry, today (I hold a few CRK).
A classy effort imo (good quality paper, well set out, short punchy message, and a footnote saying that all future communications will be by email). Also pays his respects to the work of the late Frank Carr but then draws a line under it by saying "As far as I am concerned it all starts now."
The main thing I got out of it was the statement that "I believe Carrick Gold is well positioned for a period of strong growth as we evolve our focus from pure exploration towards developing the first of our projects in the 2012 financial year".
My impression was that the recent comments were that they would move into production in calendar 2011 (?) so it seems to me that he is now giving himself an extra 6 months (which seems more realistic to me).
Elsewhere he states that Carrick is "located adjacent to numerous commercial discoveries and plentiful existing infrastructure such as power, transport and mills".
In the presentation that Norton (NGF) put out yesterday they note that they are looking for extra work for their Paddington mill, be that by way of tolling or m&a action I am not sure.
