During the period a rigorous review of the Group’s three biodiesel f acilities w as undertaken by the U.S. Environmental Protection Authority. As a result all facilities achieved accreditation under the U.S. Renew able Fuel Standard and w ere also granted approval to generate U.S. renew able energy credits. This has created export opportunities into the prof itable U.S. market. Sales and marketing During the reporting period market prices for biodiesel continued to f luctuate in line w ith crude oil and mineral diesel prices w ith w hich biodiesel prices are typically correlated. The strong Australian dollar has had a generally negative impact, putting dow nw ard pressure on selling prices of mineral diesel in Australia w hich in turn impacts biodiesel prices. Sales for the Group for the period totalled $18.7 million w hich is an increase of $15.9 million (almost seven-fold) over the equivalent 2010 period. Of this, $10.6 million related to sales by BPL for the tw o month period included af ter its acquisition and $5.3 million resulted f rom increases in sales by the Largs Bay and Picton facilities.
