If it is correct it is a further damning indictment on management. They simply had to wait for this data which would have been the smoothest transition to what they are doing and the market would have not reacted the way it did.
If the data is poor then they having nothing so this move suggests they may already have some idea about the data. However it only highlights how insane the announcement was and makes you wonder who is indeed running this company? They way they did it ensured the stock would get obliterated and if they use the excuse of continuous disclosure then they are being disingenuous in the extreme especially if positive in vivo data is released in March.
Commercial decision aside it is impossible to argue that hey have acted in the interests of shareholders after a 50% fall.
