R&D budget.

PGC is an amalgamator of companies, nothing unique about them accept the fact that they are in a good growth sector with a fairly successful execution up to date, by saying this it may just happen that a lot of enthusiasts at first get cold feet later on ( maybe PIE included ) as the fear of a failing Aquisition
sets in. very different to a company like CSL that are leaders in their field and enjoy 20% organic growth year on year.

with PGC an investor has no idea what's next on the agenda, what one product like( aged care) beds have to do with the MIDAS software platform for diagnostic examinations. they have amalgamated products and offer services that I for one can not find a common thread ( accept been healthcare n Australia).
LHC that was taken out the other day had a theme. RMD = sleep apnea solution, COCHLEAR = hearing aid. CSL = plasma. there are many other ones in diagnostic., imaging, hospitals, or any other specific products , could even be an APP, but there is a theme. this lack of a theme can be a reason for uncertainty.

in the age of technological edge or scale, some investors may feel insecure investing in the mish-mash of products, I will be very interested to hear anyone theory, or configuring the thematic behind those M&A beside the obvious of buy at low multiples, and growth by scale.

I am invested not because of the unique technology but rather a niche in the fragmented product market.

I hold larger positions in smaller healthcare comp, with their own technology, IP, and products sold locally and overseas.
