Yawn? ABX has made aluminium fluoride directly from bauxite. That would be a world first. The 3 Australian aluminium smelters are all well aware of ABX's progress throughout 2019 and are apparently keen to buy an Australian made product (thereby avoiding currency and geopolitical risk). I'll admit ABX has tested my patience - I have been waiting 2.5 years for this announcement. The base case scenario was something like $800-1000 profit per tonne (May 2018 presentation). I don't know how you can be a holder and not be excited by that announcement! Next stage is samples from the pilot plant to the 3 smelters and then offtake agreements! I have only ever regarded Alcore as a free carried punt. But that punt just took a big step towards paying off.
