Can't speak for you on this, but Sonic can get more bang for their buck than I can. Would prefer them to wisely deploy their COVID cash and grow their base business earnings sustainably over time.
That being said, COVID related revenue will decline in the coming years, but possibly not as much as the market thinks. Just as the community will have to learn to live with COVID, (vaccine assisted of course) Sonic will also retain some ongoing COVID earnings as testing and vaccine administration become part of their regular operations. We may find that their earnings and dividend get a small but permanent shot in the arm in the next year or so as a result.
