This will most likely be a bootable OS on the dongle and provide either 'brown out' access to the terminals or a simple fail over. Meh, I'd rather they move to a 100% rental model so they can account for the OS on each terminal.
They have skirted around the issue that they were unable to confirm the affected OS running on the bricked terminals prior to the update server side. Moreover they were unable to roll back. Concerning from a technical perspective but they will undoubtedly be rectifying this behind closed doors.
Not down ramping, love this business, traded the hell out of it and will continue to do so.
Nothing but upside for these guys.
