For me the significant benefit Oncosil provides to the treatment options for pancreatic cancer can be stated quite simply:-

Conventional radiotherapy:- 50Gy radiation over 25 sessions with limited targeting of the tumour.

Oncosil device:- 100Gy radiation in one session that is specifically targeted on the tumour.

Hence 3 significant benefits with Oncosil over conventional radiotherapy:- (1) Twice the dose of radiation 100Gy v 50Gy;

(2) One 30-60 minute treatment with Oncosil versus 25 sessions of traditional radiotherapy;

(3) Targeted radiotherapy with Oncosil minimising damage to other tissue compared with less targeted treatment with traditional radiotherapy.

Importantly, Oncosil treatment does not compete with chemo drugs, current or new. Oncosil competes with high beam radiotherapy.

This is compelling treatment and I agree with Nigel that Oncosil will be the standard of care along with chemo for the treatment of LAPC.
