After the first 28 days free, access to the DOU app costs users USD$5/month.
It will take more than 9 months of membership for DOU to break even on these customer acquisitions, excluding any revenue generated from interchange fees etc (which admittedly is where the majority of DOU's revenue is coming from).
If you read the app reviews for Apple and Google (discounting the obvious paid reviews), it's clear there are genuine issues for some users.
