    not really no. Atlassian has let mainly HR staff and the like go. Even at Google, support staff were many more than developers. I can assure you Google is still paying high salaries and bonuses and share options to the very many software engineers it retained. My son is still flitting around - Austria, followed by DC with the identity layer stuff he is working on.

    IT staff cover many different disciplines and quality varies. If you are talking about hack testers or the like, sure let them go, easy enough to hire when you want to. If you are talking specialist security people, you absolutely need to retain them.

    If a really major recession hits like say the one in the early 90s then there will be an over supply but we aren’t there yet. If it does then TNT will need to retrench as revenue will drop - probably more with private clients than Government clients.
