The same resources that are used to justitify a grant would also be used for other work within LVT.. So technically they would not be getting rid of all the expenses.
Also someone else on here said that LVT could have been getting paid to help explore and research new tech using LVT products with other companies. The brainpac partnership is one that comes to mind. David also mentions that it's not just grants but also paid parterships.
