I work for a large electrical utility (mostly poles and wires). We aren’t a Pointerra customer but the problem they solve is a real one. I can’t comment on their solution directly but I can say the sales cycle is super slow and often so is the implementation because we often demand a high level of customisation based on lots of consultation with the various stakeholders (engineering, design, legal, insurance, operations, etc etc). To get the sale and implement something would often be at least 2 years. But once you land it chances are you will stick around for a long long time. We are replacing a piece of software from the 90s currently and cracking the third year of “the build”.

I do think Pointerra management may have underestimated the glacial pace of these organisations (unless there are storms, the power is out and we are facing large regulatory fines!!)
