just thinking, some shareholders have suggested that they would like more institutional investment on the books, wouldn't that then be a logical source for them to pick up a substantial amount, from IG selling that is.
If IG'S 25 % is locked away as you suggest, then that leaves a diminished pool, of mostly rusted on long term retail investors who will not sell until a substantially higher price.
Seems to me like a bit of a catch 22, sh want more insto buying, but where is it going to come from?
But on the flip side, a 25% holding eliminates any possibility of a takeover, unless of course, it is management who undertakes the takeover. But he has had a long time and a cheaper price to do this, so probably unlikely. And hence why many a post over the years have lamented the fact that there has never been any premium with ALK shares compared to relative peers. R
