Toyota has fallen asleep at the wheel here and backed the wrong horse.
Rather than using their massive leadership to realign for what is the future, their strategy instead has been to lobby Governments and PR against EVs. Insane, but it's what they are doing to protect their Hybrid and economical fossil fuel cars for as long as possible. If they are not careful, the will go down the path of Kodak.
Very odd for such a visionary company as Toyota. Somwhere between Prius mk 1 and today they have messed up, or made the mistake of being complacent.
