The next federal election in Canada is not scheduled until October 2025, although an earlier election remains a possibility. A string of recent polls suggest that time has finally run out for Justin Trudeau (PM since 2015!), and that most Canadians are eager for a change. Poilievre is fairly new to the leadership position and needs to establish his credentials as a future PM. That said, he seems to be prepared to challenge the ‘progressive’ orthodoxies which are now the political norm in Canada, and to speak with the courage of his convictions — a rare quality in modern-day politics!
