Check the history of WAM & their special dividends. It did very little for the share price.
It was not until they started paying 4c & 4c then 5c & 5c, then 6c & 6c, then 7cc & 7c, then 8C & 8c etc that the share price steadily rose.
The share price has subsequently fallen further than it would have had they kept those special dividends to pay out in times like these.
