At times I have been as critical as anyone on how things have progressed with this company, from the TMT merger days until now,,, but I will say that I am extremely impressed with how much focus and progress has been put into the battery side, and giving us a real chance to be a major player in the energy space.
There seems to be a real possibility that the creation of a large scale vanadium battery industry (deployment) in Australia, could eventually take the majority of, if not all of the vanadium coming out of our mine.
If the global demand predicted is close to reality, then the math shows new mine/supply are needed to fill the gap, and we could easily have enough battery projects in Australia that even our mine doesn't keep up with local demand,,, let alone leaving anything to the spot market for export.
If the vanadium price has been a worry for people thinking this can't get off the ground anytime soon at those prices,,, the company seems to be doing something about this, and it's looking more realistic that they 'single handedly' create the demand needed to make this a viable project, regardless of the China spot price.
Still several ducks to line up, but anyone just looking at mine progress and saying "nothing has been achieved in years", are missing that AVL could be close to changing the whole game with the work they have put in on the BESS side.
