is BYD or the likes competing with the luxury car brands? Will the governments around the world support the sale of Chinese made cars or support the sale of their locally made ones? I think we all know the answer to that last question.

Also, the people who buy the likes of a BMW or Mercedes won't a buy Chinese made car regardless of the 'claimed' range.
I'm not biased to any one particular brand but there is no way I'd buy a Chinese made EV. The Chinese have always been known to cut corners to increase profit. I have a feeling I'd be sitting on a white elephant in a few years time
