HALFYR: GEN: Half Year Results

Auckland, New Zealand, 28 August 2012 - Genesis Research and Development
Corporation Ltd (NZSX/ASX: GEN) today reported a cash balance at 30 June 2012
of $48,000 (31 December 2011: $64,000) and a Net Loss for the period of
$109,000 (30 June 2011: Net Loss $148,000).
Since 30th June a placement of 9.1 million shares has been completed. This
has provided sufficient funds for Genesis to remain listed while it considers
further investment proposals. Shareholder approval will be required for any
major investments.
