Agree CSG has PR problems. And this will flow onto Shale in highly populated areas or where there are high value competing land use. Such as Otway in Victoria where government has banned fraccing for now. When you see the size of a fraccing spread, you wouldn't want them showing up at your vineyard or dairy farm to start work.

Fortunately CB is sparsely populated and this is a big advantage over CSG and Otway shale, for example.

As most of the CSG has been sold OS, there is clearly a role for Shale gas. And the presence of so many LNG plants in Qld will mean oil linked or parity pricing for gas will come, as it is doing or has done in WA.
