Sometimes it’s better to go through an independent process such as section 18. Eqn has a grievance based on an agreement in 2014. WAGC has not committed as they state 2 new sites identified but has not registered it. WAGC also has existing tenements and leases under its subsidiary and the identified sites were from WAGC subsidiary. Hence to remove bias, it is better for section 18 and traditional owners can appeal of it goes in company’s favour.
