It's not just MRG that do this in fairness, but "there's been some good stuff and there's been some bad stuff" is hardly keeping the market informed.

If I had to guess I would say that lower than budget volumes are in the high value/margin products, and better than budget volumes are in the low value/margin products, and so overall this update is flagging a lower than forecast outcome.

But why do we have to guess? Why not say EBITDA is now expected to be one of (1) better (2) worse (3) the same? It's not that hard!!
