Yes, it's a bit disappointing that no deal has yet come to fruition, but that's the nature of the industry. The big players tend to toy with the minors while they assess whether a project measures up to their in-house criteria, and often they don't go ahead just because one of the criteria isn't met. That doesn't mean that the project is no good though. BHP and other majors have walked away from many great projects.
I worked for a major oil company for several years, and it was the same story there.
The fact that BHP had a good hard look at Kalkaroo shows that there is some substantial value in the project, and the way that the copper market is shaping up for 2024, I think that we'll see some interesting developments in the coming months.
