Because I don't have a PHD like Dr. Giles, or are MD of RXM or BHP. All those people have more information than me. So a mismatch and any or all of them seem to feel free to tell me limited amounts of the truth to suit themselves. Not to mention their dealing with the government who are also hugely self-serving and economical with the truth, if not outright lying &/or corrupt.

If you're going to say duty continuous disclosure. I say add incompetent to my notes on government behaviour for ASIC.

Still in the big picture, as my wife notes, I have enough to eat and keep safe & warm. The last two are questionable (as you note for the long term) but more than most others. I suspect I set my standards from what has been available before. Is it too high?
