" Compared to Hazer's Hydrogen, electrolysis Hydrogen is roughly 5 times more energy intensive. The Hazer process uses approximately 10kWh’s of power to produce 1kg of Hydrogen. Compare this to electrolysis which is estimated to use approximately 50kWhs. This means if both types of Hydrogen production are using renewables to power the process, then electrolysis is going to need 5 times the number of solar panels, wind turbines, and Lithium batteries to store the solar and wind so the electrolyser can run 24/7. This means more materials to be mined, processed, and transported. And what about the water requirements? If the electrolyser is going to use desalinated water what about the materials and energy requirements for that. Will it mean more dams? "

Are there any government initiatives to set some standards for measuring the cradle to gate emission's and incentivising the lowest Carbon footprint processes accordingly ?
